Founded in 2012, CTF – Collective Trauma Film Collections are representing a international world-wide unique initiative by Wilfried Agricola de Cologne addressed to young generations of artists and film makers to deal with the topic of collective trauma caused primarily by totalitarism by using new technologies and contemporary approaches in art in order to keep vivid the memory via audio-visual art.
The first collection and the fundament of CTF is representing SFC – Shoah Film Collection founded in 2010, dedicated to the victims of Holocaust, but also other genocides – consisting of experimental films, videoart and documentaries http://dts.engad.org
In 2012, the second collection “Cambodia 1975-1979” followed -consisting primarily of documentaries – is dealing with the Cambodian genocide 1975-1979. It is a collaboration between artvideoKOELN international, MetaHOUSE – German-Cambodian Cultural Centre Phnom Penh and DMF @ Royal University of Phnom Penh.
The collection includes videos by young Cambodian film makers educated at the filmschool @ MetaHouse Phnom Penh and Depart6ment of Film and Media @ the Royal university. All videos try to re-establish an own induividual and collective identity by reflecting the genocide all Cambodian families are suffering from.
The film collection “Cambodia 1975-1979” has benn presented 2012 in Zielona Gora (Poland), 2013 in Vilnius (Lithuania) and 2014 in Moscow (Russia).
